I don't know about you but I'm craving some classical seafood this week-end. I know the perfect spot whether you are in downtown Austin or in Bee Cave. Stop in either location for some of the best seafood around, but save room for their deserts...they are heavenly!
CAFE BLUE https://cafebluetx.com/
Café Blue is a traditional seafood restaurant and oyster bar with 2 locations: downtown across from the Convention Center and in Bee Cave in the Hill Country Galleria. At either location, you'll be served the best seafood - fish, shrimp, oysters and crab along with the best oyster bar in Austin and a variety of cold seafood favorites at their raw bars. Along with that, Café Blue serves delicious steaks, prime rib and what some are calling the best Key Lime Pie this side of Florida. Café Blue also serves the Best Brunch in Austin on Saturdays and Sundays. Their wine selection is extensive with large wine cellars at both locations. They offer a full bar, happy hours on weekends and Wind Down Wednesdays.
On the Oyster Bar menu you'll find Ceviche with fresh fish marinated in lime juice and tossed with your choice of tropical fruit salsa or pico de gallo...there's also the Seafood Sampler with oysters on the half shell, jumbo Gulf cocktail shrimp, Atlantic snow crab claws and ceviche. On the Hot Appetizer menu there's Thai Style Mussels with PEI mussels, steamed in a sweet & spicy Thai coconut-curry broth, served with grilled French Bread...and Truffled Tenderloin Tips - with blackened beef tenderloin tips topped with Parmesan cheese and truffle oil, served with bearnaise sauce for dipping. On the Seafood menu there's Crab Stuffed Gulf Flounder sautéed with lump crab stuffing and citrus butter sauce, served with garlic whipped potatoes and asparagus ... Cedar Plank Salmon with brown sugar-ancho chile crusted Atlantic salmon with blue crab butter sauce served with rice pilaf and mint cucumber slaw...and Kick Ass Sea Bass - sesame teriyaki glazed Chilean sea bass topped with crispy onion strings served with rice pilaf and asparagus. On the Steak menu there's Dirty Drunken Smoked Beef Tenderloin - an 8oz. smoked & sliced beef tenderloin served in a Forty Creek Whisky bacon brown sugar sauce served with thick cut Shiner Bock onion rings and creamed spinach...and the Grilled Rib-Eye - a 12oz. all natural aged grilled rib eye served with green peppercorn brandy sauce, garlic whipped potatoes and creamed spinach. Your favorite burgers, sandwiches, po-boys and tacos are also available.
Leave room for dessert and choose from the Molten Chocolate Cake with Amy's Irish Cream ice cream, chocolate covered espresso beans and caramel sauce or the fresh squeezed Key Lime Pie made with real Key limes and a buttery graham cracker crust. Note: a whole Key Lime Pie is also available for take out!
