I am so grateful that Caffé Vittoria in the North End of Boston aka in Little Italy is still around. It has been one of my favorite Cafes when I lived in Boston. It was the first Italian Café that opened in 1929. Nothing has changed, if you want to have the best Cappuccino in Boston outside of Italy, then this is a must visit destination.
On our recent trip to Boston, even though we were only there for less than six full days, we managed to stop in twice with friends. I had conversations with friends about various places that sadly have closed. They were Boston Institutions. Hence, Therefore, I was very thankful that I was able to stop in and share a Cappuccino with friends.
This Café has been around even before as well as during prohibition times, in the daytime it is a great place to have a Cappuccino and Tiramisu, they make the best Tiramisu in Boston some people might say they make the best Cannoli’s too. Just to be clear next door Mike’s Pastry and I would disagree, they make the second best Cannoli’s😊!
Late at night you might want to go downstairs and check out the vibe reminiscent of the prohibition days. People drink and can even smoke a hukkah pipe if you are interested in that as well as ciggars. As of 2014 this is the only establishment in Boston that permits smoking ciggars.
Generally, I prefer to stay upstairs close to the entrance door there is a small nook just enough for two tables. Most of the time I was able to get the table where I like it. On this trip one out of two times I did manage it. I took some pictures to share with you here. This nook is like a mini museum of the history of Caffé Vittoria. Now if you look at the cups and the porcelain decorations, you will notice the words HEREND. A name that is synonymous with Luxury Porcelain all over the Globe and they were founded in 1826 in a small town in Hungary. They specialize in hand painted porcelain. Caffe Vittoria received the coffee cups from The Budapest Cafe also an iconic Restaurant in Boston, (blog post to follow).
Just on a side note, it is not a credit card establishment, it has always been a cash establishment from its inception and it has not changed, so when you go make sure you have cash on you.
Please check out their website and if you get a chance to go to Boston, MA make sure this is on your list of must stop in destinations.

On a side note I am a bit partial to this place because after Diane and I had our first dinner date 24 + years ago, I took her to Caffé Vittoria for coffee and desert, since we did not want the date to end😊!
