Lisa Von Domek is hosting the February Contest...Love Is In The Air.
The challenge is about choosing a transaction that made me feel good.
Picking just one transaction is not so easy, but here it is.
It was a home that I was listing for a family who had bought and sold with me over many years. This time it was a parent's home and one that was in disrepair. With the owner well in her nineties...the entire family decided to do an " AS IS " sale.
The condition was not even appropriate for interior photos. When the property was mentioned to my professional photographer, he wanted to buy this house.
He reminded me of my promise to find the perfect home for his beautiful family. Again he told me this was the right house.
My advice: I felt it needed too much work for this young family and was afraid they would get in over their heads and pocketbook.
Still insisting this was the right home, the seller accepted their offer and we lined up several inspectors. The contract also gave them the opportunity to withdraw.
They went in with eyes wide open and could not stop thanking the sellers and me for making their dream come true.
Here is a note from this family.
"..This is the BEST home ever! We are so grateful to have found so many positives we always wanted. I truly NEVER thought I would be able to have all in one. We feel like we won the lottery. We love the cul de sac, beautiful back yard, excellent street, next to a park, a ranch, gorgeous basement with so much light, and such good people lived here. It makes a difference. The home is so PERFECT!
Mrs. Rome, we can’t thank you enough! We go to sleep and wake up so happy!''
This transaction was so smooth that this young family helped the owners clean out and even pack up the home. They felt it was a privilege to help and the sellers thought that angels had been sent to buy Mom's special home.
Whenever I see the buyers OR run into someone who knows them...they talk about living in their dream home!
Love was definitely in the air.
