In just two weeks, I'll begin my 13th year on ActiveRain. Though I do not blog here as often as I did when I began, I still like to check-in from time to time to see which posts have best resonated with ActiveRain readers.
Over nearly twelve years, I have written nearly 3,000 posts which generated 4 million views on ActiveRain, which are some very strong numbers for somebody writing from a relatively small market area. I believe this is a great reason that today's blogging agents should start on ActiveRain.
Top Blog Posts
So what exactly do I consider a "top" blog post? First, it should be one that continues to draw readers over time. Something that is a big splash out of the gates is great, but my favorites are the ones that keep drawing people over time due to their relevance and proper SEO. On my primary website, I have posts that are ten years old that continue to draw a handful of visitors each day. They are truly the gift that keeps on giving!
Additionally, the best blog posts on ActiveRain should generate comments and likes. This activity is a sign that the audience has been truly "reached," as you have encouraged interaction. I'm not nearly as good at this as some of the great ActiveRain bloggers, but I do occasionally generate some love.
The following ten blog posts range in age from five to twelve years old, and have been viewed from 8,000 to 30,000 times. The comments range from a handful to well over 100.
