The Camas Castle - A good spot to let down your hair.
In Camas, WA you can spot a scene right out of Disney’s updated Rapunzel story, “Tangled.” Not far from the intersection of 283rd Avenue and Norse Road is a castle structure complete with a moat and drawbridge.
The concrete structure was built in 1985 by its current owner Gerald Bjorkland. According to the Clark County GIS data, it sits on a little over 5 acres. It says the building is approximately 1000 square feet and is described as a conventional 2 story structure. (hahahaha)
However, the castle has a three-story, 40-foot tower at its east end - a perfect place to let down your hair. According to an old MLS real estate listing, there are tiled floors and carpet, and an elevator ( and staircase) leading to the 3rd story master suite.
A little Real Estate history about The Camas Castle.
The 2006 listing also says the 3-level castle has 3 bedrooms, 2.2 baths and is nearly 2600 square feet. At that time, the listing also mentions additional living quarters outside of the stucco compound. The price - $500,000.
After 367 days of marketing, the listing expired. During the history of the listing, there were no accepted offers noted by the Realtor. Apparently a tower where you can let down your hair isn’t as desirable as one might think.
Should you be compelled to take a peek, be advised, there are now no- trespassing signs posted at the driveway. However, you can get a good view of the property from Norse Road and this overhead view from Google maps.
