When most of us hear "Do you have a Ring" we think of nice shiny jewelry like the rings above. Well when it comes to the RING doorbell I'm more likely to think about onions then something fine.
When I was an active Realtor one of the high end developer/builders I represented installed RING doorbells on the homes he built. I thought they were pretty cool as I knew if I rang the doorbell on any of our model homes I'd be talking to Randy even if he was at home in Utah and not on the construction site.
Because of that experience I decided to buy one.
BIG MISTAKE!
I would NOT recommend this product to anyone under any condition! Let me tell you why.
1) It is the most expensive product (initial purchase) on the market of it's kind. YES there are competitors out there that are superior products for less money.
2) After following the instructions to the T multipule times, with a company representative on line with me, we/she dicided I had a defective product. I returned it to Target and got another one. Same thing. I told a friend who works on the Best Buys Geek Squad. He came to the house and set it up in a few minutes. I'd hate to think what this would have cost me if I wasn't a friend of the Geek squad.
3) After you purchase the most expensive product of it's kind you have to purchase a monthly subscription as well or the product is pretty much worthless.
4) Try calling customer service! Really! If you find a phone number you will talk to someone who knows English as a second language and doesn't seem to know anything about billing. My real life experience yesterday was that I was on the website for no less then 45 minutes trying to purchase a monthly plan... no success. I spent another half hour with a representive through "chat". After the half hour he said they can not take payment throught the website. I got a phone number and after a forty five minutes there, two representatives and a supervisor, I finally got the wonderful opportunity to PAY for their service... oh boy!
OBVIOUSLY my advice is to avoid this product at all costs. There are better products out there for less money. Investigate! I wish I would have.
