A Different Point of View
To think is to Create - October Challenge. If you haven't had a chance to share your stories of what you've learned, changed, improved upon over the past few months - now is your opportunity!
Personally I've had an amazing journey this past few months or so. I have arrived at a place where things that seem small are huge, and things that used to seem huge, now seem small. That hadn't been my intention but that's what's happened! Michael Jacobs wrote an interesting post about this very subject, The Long and Short Of it.
I realized while reading Michael's post that he 'gets' what I'm experiencing and I have a feeling from reading so many awesome posts that you all have written for the contest - that MANY of you do as well. Our 'worlds' have changed in so many ways during the pandemic and some changes came quite by surprise. My one small but huge change in behavior created an entirely different 'feeling place' and I'm loving it!
Nature..... is amazing! Every day during the pandemic shut down, we both made a decisive choice to take more time to slow down, and simply notice the incredible show of nature gifted to us right in the microcosm of our backyard! It's a beautiful oasis bursting with color and serenity. Every morning we also decided to spend time in the pool simply appreciating our life. Simply Appreciating! We've lived here over 22 years and there hasn't been one year, until this year, that we did that! We were 'too busy' or so we thought....
To top it all off - Gary just happened to capture a photo of this incredible Cooper Hawk eying the birds and critters from our roof yesterday. We were absolutely awestruck by his magnificence! He stood tall, over looking our backyard and quietly moving his head ever so slightly while noticing EVERY move around him. Including Gary! He had but a second to catch a photo and thankfully he did. It was meant to be!
I mean, really, as in REALLY look at this incredible Cooper Hawk and notice all the tiny details.....he's beautiful!
Life is good. And life is really pretty simple is we let it flow!
