In the February Active Rain contest we are sharing the love and focusing on positive things about working with agents or positive things that agents do.
As I thought about how to approach this challenge, I considered a Top 10 style list or perhaps doing a dep dive on a particular activity showing agents doing positive work.
Instead, I decided to do some primary research and began scanning my social media channels to catch my own real estate friends doing positive things.
Below are several examples of what I found. No opinions. Just straight up, real life snapshots of real estate professionals making a positive impact in one way or another.
Agents Promote the Communities They Serve
How do you sell a home? You sell a dream. Smart agents will share highlights about the region and inspire new buyers. They may share about new restaurants or special events. My friends Alberto and Dan consistently share beautiful pictures showcasing the area.
Agents Work Weekends!
No banker hours for these professionals. Real estate agents are constantly staffing their open houses on Saturdays and Sundays away from their family. These are the sacrifices required of a successful agent. I think my former neighbor in Stonybrook Estero, Jesse McGreevy sums it up best in his comment in this post. "Everyday is a Monday in Real Estate. I gave up weekends 17 years ago."
Agents Engage with Chambers of Commerce
Membership in a chamber of commerce is an underrated tactic for building referral relationships. Smart real estate agents invest in their local chambers, volunteer on committees and help produce events such as golf tournaments, awards dinners and educational workshops. My referral partners Aryn and Andy Alberts are a great example. Click here to follow Andy & Aryn Alberts on ActiveRain.
Agents Do Marketing!
Becoming proficient on the 'gram and Facebook Live videos isn't just a good idea. It's a hallmark of successful real estate agents. My chamber ambassador buddy Tina Gonzalez does a great job with her Instagram posts.
Agents Build Networks of Referral Partners
The real estate agent is at the center of it all. Smart real estate agents build teams of reliable referral partners including mortgage professionals, home inspectors, insurance experts, HVAC vendors, painters, roofers etc. Homeowners trust their real estate agent and the recommendations they offer. You learned about the GROW Business Network in the first installment of the February Share The Love contest.
Agents Grow and Lead Teams
It's one thing to become a top producer. It's a completely different story when you build a team and invest in their sales, marketing and leadership development to help them become meet their goals too. Take a look at the legacy that Dina Marie is working on in this team photo.
Agents Are Data Junkies
Real estate is local. And the data proves it. Comparing neighborhoods is apples and oranges. Aggregate data representing a region reveals trends and averages. Real estate professionals better be good at math and like numbers. And smart agents transform these data into useful, digestable reports to share with their audience. My referral partner John See recently did a great presentation both to a live audience and also in video format on social media.
