Born and raised in western Massachusetts, I left the comfort of my parent's home in 1994 to serve in the United States Army and remained until the summer of 1997. I was stationed in Texas, and I fell in love with the Lone Star state. I also fell in love with a fellow soldier who was from Lubbock, Texas. I didn't know where or what a Lubbock was, but my parents did. They were quick to point out that Lubbock, Texas was the hometown of famed rock & roller Buddy Holly.

At twenty years old, my husband and I purchased our first home using a VA loan. We were between permanent party locations, and we literally had one week to find a suitable house. In a short period of time we had collected three pit bull dogs, and nobody in their right mind would rent to us. With the help of a great real estate agent and a savvy lender we did it. We had no closing costs, and our interest rate was 9%. We thought we were in high cotton.

Eventually, we left active duty and relocated to Lubbock, Texas. In the next twenty years I earned two degrees from Texas Tech University (B.A. in English and a B.B.A. in Accounting), raised a family, collected more animals, bought more property, sold more property, went through a divorce, got remarried, opened a small HVAC business with my second husband, and eventually earned first a real estate salesperson license and then a broker license.

I am firm believer in the American Dream including real property ownership and small business ownership. I believe that once we set our intentions there is not much we cannot accomplish. Yes, it takes discipline. Yes, it takes commitment. Yes, there are sometimes disappointments and doubt along the way. However, I am here to tell you that if you "just keep swimming" you will get there. Let me help you get there.
