I am an Open Book to all of my clients. I believe that a trusted advisor is a critical part of anyones financial success. Finding one has become increasingly difficult in our information saturated world. I believe in providing the information that all people should know about their advisor, their level of financial experience both personally and professionally , licensing and the advisor's and their credit report. Yeah, their credit report - when was the last time you saw your agents credit report. Would a quick peek have prevented someone you know from accepting poor advice? Shouldn't clients be given more than a clever marketing plan, in order to have reason to trust their advisor? If I tell my client that I have a mid Fico of 757, it's not to brag, but to demonstrate my ability to make sound personal choices in my finances. Should clients know that kind of information about their advisor?
I think so.
