I was a RE/MAX office owner (2 actually) in Dallas, Texas for a number of years. While the offices weren't particularly profitable, my wife's residential sales business, based in one of the offices, was. Missy's team closed 150+ transactions per year. She was the team leader and listing specialist; I conducted the team business operations and supervised the staff.
In late 2003, we sold all of our businesses and moved to Playa del Carmen, Mexico (near Cancun). Since then, we have coached a limited number of agents. "Limited" so that the coaching doesn't cut into our retirement too much.
We have a son and grandson in San Francisco, and a daughter with 2 granddaughters in Atlanta, so our travel schedule includes frequent trips to the U.S. For many of those trips, we participate in "home exchanges" through homeexchange.com, which we heartily recommend.
While not directly involved in real estate sales, I do have a number of opinions on subjects of interest to agents as well as a broad range of lessons learned. Hopefully my blog will be of help in stimulating discussion.
