Get to Know Jim Barrett
Barrett Computers has been a fulltime family owned business since 1993.
Our founder, Jim Barrett, began work in the information technology field around 1977. Working for other companies Mr. Barrett gained experience as a computer operator, programmer, system analyst, systems engineer, operations manager, and more. Seeing a need for knowledgeable and professional computer services in the real estate community, he and his wife Janice started Barrett Computers out of their home in Aiken, SC in January 1993.
The company started out as a service to individuals and small businesses who were getting into the new world of personal computers. Later, as need and technology grew, the Barrett's adjusted their business and provided sales of hardware and installation of networks, servers and telecommunication equipment.
Soon came the explosion of business websites. Again a new need was arising for economical services in the website development area, Barrett then started its area of website service.
Accordingly we continue to expand our services as the need arises. One of the main reasons we started the business in the first place was to offer economical services in a world where most computer service companies were charging outrageous rates. We continue to remember this fact and strive to keep our rates below the "norm" in the industry.
Our past experiences in industry, real estate, construction, management, public relations, and more, adds to and heightens the abilities and visions of our staff.
