Get to know Kristen Wheatley
As a licensed REALTOR® since 2006, I have had the good fortune to work with educators and mentors that helped me to start my career off on the right path. I began as an assistant on a team, affording me the opportunity to gain experience and watch the pros at work. It is in my nature to soak up every ounce of experience and I truly believe this start gave me an advantage. When the economy crashed and many agents needed to let go of their assistants, I began my solo career with the blessing and support of my former team boss and colleagues. Starting off in an extremely challenging market gave me that sense of "if I can succeed here and now, I can succeed anywhere!"
I also had the good fortune to enter the real estate industry as various technology tools and social media platforms were beginning to open up. I had the luxury of learning them one at a time, from the beginning.
Current agents face the challenge of a market where they are expected to be masters of so many different tools that it can become overwhelming and start taking away from their primary responsibility of serving their clients needs during the buying and selling process.
After years of coaching and training agents in the areas of real estate technology and productivity, I am thrilled to now start a new journey with Better Homes & Gardens Real Estate | The Masiello Group as their Director of Training. When I began in 2006, there was a mass exodus of agents moving towards a high split/low service model, ready to take on and pay for their own support systems. As our industry has evolved and the systems in many cases have become incredible, but more complicated, we are now seeing a return of agents to a business model that provides them with more marketing and administrative support, allowing them to focus on what they do best, helong their clients buy and sell.
I am a firm believer that there is a business model out their for everyone and I am thrilled that agents now have so many more choices.
Finding that perfect mix of old school, back to basics skills and techniques in combination with the incredible technology tools we have available is the secret sauce.
