Areas of specialty: The Kansas City metro area including: Brookside/Waldo; downtown KCMO condos; UMKC/Stowers Institute area; Prairie Village; Leawood; Overland Park in Kansas. I also focus on working with seniors who want to downsize to maintenence free housing, relocating families and first time buyers.
People generally like to do business with people they like and trust. When I have the opportunity to work with a new customer, the first thing I want to do is get to know them...what is their lifestyle like? their family? what do they like to do in their freetime? Then we can talk more about the specifics of home buying or selling. The lifestyle you want to live has a direct impact on what type of home you would like to live in.
I've been a Realtor since 2003...it's challenging and exciting...every transaction is different. Many of my clients have become good friends. It's a thrill to show a home to a buyer and hear 'this is the one!!'. I enjoy keeping in touch with people after the sale and introducing out of towners to the many neighborhoods Kansas City has to offer.
And what about me? My family includes my husband Monty and two girls, Erin and Siena. We like to travel, read, take walks in the neighborhood and have friends over on the patio, talking local news, current events and pop culture. I am a board member of the the Armour Hills Homes Association; I volunteer for KCUR, our local public radio station, and Habitat ReStore. Before the real estate career....I was a rock radio DJ and worked for Hyatt Hotels and the Convention and Visitors Authority in Kansas City. If I could have a second home...it would be in New York City!!
Real estate is such a hot topic these days. I'm asked all the time 'What's selling now? Are you still doing real estate?" What's selling depends on many factors....it is so important to know the neighborhood your customers live in - or want to move to. Buying a home is more than just an investment--it's a lifestyle choice. When it's YOU as the buyer or seller, the transaction is much more personal. You want to work with someone who can get the job done AND who you feel comfortable with. I'm here to share information, opinions and offer some guidance so that the right decision is made.
And I'm here to save you time...something no one seems to have enough of!

At times, an agent needs to juggle a lot of balls at once and keep everything on track. I strive to give my clients the feeling that 'you are my top priority' at this time. No matter how busy I am, I always have time to respond to a new lead or referral from another agent. I consistantly show my customers how much I appreciate their business and referrals. In this line of work, earning and maintaining a good reputation is the way to become successful.
Here are some references from clients:
"In relocating to Kansas City from Chicago and not knowing very much about the KC metro area, it was essential for us to have a realtor whom we could trust to assist us in finding a home that we would love, not someone who was just interested in closing the deal. Mary took the time to get to know our family and really looked out for our interests from beginning to end. She is highly organized, energetic and fun to work with!" Bryan and Sarah Reilly
"Mary is the hardest working, most thorough real estate agent I have come in contact with over the last ten years and four home purchases. She is more aware of the Kansas City market than anyone I know. She is successful at diligently and consistantly providing education and superior customer service to her clients." Erin White
