Get to know Michelle Pagan
Born in the beautiful island of Puerto Rico, I moved to Maryland in 1995 and have been a resident of Calvert County, Maryland since 2003. I am a Translator/Interpreter (English/Spanish) and hold a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology from Trinity College in Hartford, CT and a Master’s of Science in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico.
I have been a Realtor® for 12 plus years and currently I am affiliated with Coldwell Banker Jay Lilly Real Estate. I hold several designations and certifications: Certified Distressed Property Expert® Designation (CDPE), Short Sales and Foreclosure Resource (SFR) Certification, Green Certified Real Estate Professional (GCREP) and the At Home with Diversity® Certification (AHWD). Over the years, I have assisted many homeowners with the sale of their home as a short sale negotiator and continue to do so as a knowledgeable short sale facilitator.
My Southern Maryland Association of Realtors® awards include: 2013 Individual Residential Silver Award, 2014 Individual Residential Silver Award, 2015 Gold Award for Units Sold and 2015 Gold Award for Residential Volume Sold, 2016 Team Gold Award and 2017 Team Bronze Award.
I am a self-taught Social Media Manager and in my efforts to further my education/knowledge as a real estate professional, I have recently obtained my Maryland Title Producer License.
I interact with the public on a day-to-day basis and have over 15 years of experience working for non-profit organizations and volunteering in the community. In 1998, I served as Education Director for the Earth Conservation Corps and worked with inner city youth in Washington D.C. From 2004 to 2006 I was Vice-President Elect for the Beach Elementary School (BES) PTA. I was also the Chair of the Public Relations Sub-Committee for the 1st and 2nd Silent/Live Auctions, the Membership Committee, and the Reflections Art Program. In addition, I organized BES’s 1st Science Night. I have also volunteered for the Arts Council of Calvert County, the Bay Arts Center, the Meals on Wheels Program in North Beach, and Calvert Animal Welfare League and I am one of the founding members of the Wild Women Arts Group. While volunteering for these organizations, I had the opportunity to use my skills in fundraising, public relations, and marketing. In 2012, I was appointed by the Board of County Commissioners to serve as a Commissioner with the Calvert County Commission for Women. In 2013, I was asked to join the Board of Directors for the Ruth's Miracle Group Home Foundation as Treasurer.
When I am not on the phone with a real estate client or "posting", you will find me spending time thrift/antique shopping with my daughter or watching sci-fi movies and shows with my son. In my "spare" time, I love to draw, bask in the sun and cuddle with my 3 rescue cats, Gata, Bella and Matilda.
