Get to Know Sharon LaFaver

My name is Sharon LaFaver and I reside in a small fishing village on the Missouri River in Montana named Craig.  This small community of a little over 40 grows to thousands every season when tourists come from all over the world to recreate on the Mighty Mo, Holter Lake and and the surrounding areas.  I have a 'home office' in Craig to accomodate those who have returned year after year to enjoy our beautiful state, and then decide to stay.  I specialize in 'recreational' property, and many folks have bought, built and made their mountain home their permanent home.  I am an outdoor enthusiast and enjoy sports of all kinds.  I love to kayak on the river early in the morning before the fly fishermen have begun their daily crusade.  It's so peaceful and the sun shining on the morning hatch makes the air glitter and rise high above the river. I am a grandmother and am proud to see my grandchildren grow so well in such a wonderful environment.  I also love to garden, and have photos of corn and tomatoes that overshadow me.  And, I love to cook!  Home cooked meals using fresh goods from the garden are the best! I've learned to use the GPS quite well and can read topos and find my way around the mountains quite successfully.  I have a beautiful 20 acre parcel that I'm developing and plan to eventually build a rammed earth home on.  I believe in conserving our precious resources.  I'm also very active in my extended community which covers from Wolf Creek to Cascade, Montana.

Certifications

I am a Broker in the Real Estate profession.  I specialize in rural properties, but have experience in all phases of real estate to include waterfront, undeveloped land, ranches and recreational properties.  There is a wide array of real estate available in my area.  I also have a background in construction, and can assist many new land owners with resource information about land development.  There is also a wealth of knowledge to share in land stewardship as there are a great deal of large parcels of land in our area, however, even a 10 acre parcel needs management. Noxious weed mitigation is mandated by state law, and wild fire mitigation only makes good sense.  I have some knowledge about 1031 exchanges, and can refer those that are looking to participate in that program.  I also have some knowledge about convervation easements, and can give direction there too.  I have a degree in computer technology which avails me the tools that I use to sucessfully market the properties that I list, promote this area to the outside world, and assist newcomers to this area.
