I feel that a buyer or seller would want to work with me because I take the time to explain information to them instead of glossing over it. Also, I have a sincere interest in selling their home or finding the right home for them to buy. In other words, I'm not just interested in making a sale. In addition, I am not pushy or overly aggressive, but try to reason with people and work with them rather than bullying them. I also keep up with current happenings in real estate, so I am well informed and know about new programs that could help clients make decisions. I have taught college English for several years so I know how to teach people by being very clear and by using examples to illustrate ideas.
I specialize in single family detached homes in the 100 to 750 range. First time buyers are of special interest to me because they are generally less knowledgeable about buying a home, and I like to teach them the process (I was a college English professor and still enjoy teaching, but in other contexts) of home buying. Also, they tend to be nervous about buying a home and I enjoy reassuring them that I will make the process as easy and least stressful as possible. Also, there are new regulations that benefit new home buyers and I like explaining them to first time buyers so they can understand that there is help available for them. This may persuade them to buy a home that they didn't feel they could. Listings, of course, are always an interesst because that's where everything begins. Therefore, I spend quite a bit of time prospecting for listings of all residential types.
