Lookout Mountain Real Estate, LLC
We understand what is involved in finding your special place in the mountains, acquiring it and then making it your private mountain retreat. We've done it ourselves.
Our journey began in the late 1980's when we realized the beauty, peace, and convenience offered by the mountains of Northwest Georgia; particularly Lookout Mountain and Mountain Cove, formed by Lookout and Pigeon Mountains. This area offers beautiful natural mountain settings that are very close to Chattanooga (less than 40 minutes) and within two hours of Atlanta, Birmingham, and Nashville.
In 1992 we purchased our first lot in Lookout Highlands on Lake Shelby and immediately built a dock so we could come out on the weekends to fish and relax with our dogs. Our plans were to build a weekend cottage; however, as soon as we realized how much we loved the area and the lifestyle it could afford, we began to plan a home we could use as a weekend get-away for a few years and then it could become our permanent home.
After acquiring our second, adjoining lot we began construction of our "Lake Home" in the fall of 1995 and were able to move in and begin enjoying the mountain lifestyle in June 1996. Life at the lake was all we had dreamed it to be, and every time we headed to the lake home, we could feel the stress levels subsiding as we got closer to our mountain retreat.
Finally Pep took early retirement from the Investment Department of a large insurance company, where he had been a Senior Mortgage Loan Officer (restructuring commercial mortgage loans from coast to coast) and then a Senior Investment Officer doing commercial loans internationally. Because of his love of Lookout Mountain and the potential he say here, he became a real estate agent and began to pursue his passion for the second/retirement and investment property market on and around Lookout Mountain.
Because of our enjoyment of working together and our common interest in mountain property, Ann became a real estate agent also. Since our focus is property located on Lookout Mountain and in Mountain Cove, we left our former broker, whose focus was commercial real estate and began our own real estate brokerage company, Lookout Mountain Real Estate, LLC. In July 2006 our son, Bo, received is real estate license and came to work with us fulltime; then in July 2007 our other son, Alan, who had his real estate license and worked with us on the weekends, joined us fulltime.
To accommodate our growing firm and to provide an inviting workplace where our visitors can relax while we introduce them to the area and what types of property is available, we worked with Walden Log Home to build our new office across from the entrance to Lookout Highlands (http://www.waldenloghomes.com/). Walden specialty is using old logs (ours came from barns that were 160 to over 200 years old) to construct new homes; thus each is unique. In conjunction with the old logs our stone mason used over 58 tons of stone for the exterior and the two dry stacked stone fireplaces (please see photos).
In the evenings, after dinner we enjoy sitting by our fire pit next to the lake and seeing the blues and pinks in the sky as the sun sets. As it becomes darker, the tree frogs and the bull frogs begin their nightly serenades and these are the only sounds we hear, except for an occasional hoot of an owl. It's at these times that we realize we are not really selling real estate; it's a lifestyle we are offering to those looking for a change of pace.
Our desire is to provide the highest quality service to buyers and sellers. Hopefully you will allow us to assist as you go through the process of finding your mountain property.
