Suzanne Player has been a mortgage consultant since 1998 with a strong reputation for satisfied borrowers.  She has developed a wide variety of expertise in the mortgage business drawing on her legal experience and her many contacts in the mortgage industry. 

Suzanne is a graduate of Albany Law School and was an academic scholarship recipient at Adelphi University, her undergraduate alma mater.  Suzanne practiced law for several years as a litigation attorney in private practice before joining M & T Bank in 1998 as a residential loan officer.  Suzanne has represented M & T Bank in various community events, such as the Nassau Coliseum Home Improvement Expo, Great Neck Summer Music Series, and the Great Neck Annual Street Fair. 

At M& T Bank, and later at JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A., Suzanne developed expertise in a variety of residential financing areas, including Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac loans, foreclosure bailout, alternative credit, portfolio loans, and second mortgages.  She has taught seminars for first time homebuyers and realtors explaining the mortgage qualification process and topics such as how to read a credit report.

As a member of the Real Estate Law Committees for both the Nassau and Suffolk Bar Associations, Suzanne has expanded on her knowledge by completing extensive Continuing Legal Education courses in various real estate issues including: Construction Law, Commercial Real Estate for the Advanced Practitioner, Landlord Tenant Law, 1031 Tax Deferred Exchanges, Commercial Leases, Commercial & Industrial Financing, Foreclosure Law, and Guide to Zoning Issues.  She has also served as a judge for the Regional Client Counseling Competition of the American Bar Association at St. John's University Law School.  Suzanne founded her company, First Homestead Mortgage, LLC, & obtained a mortgage broker's license in February 2008.  Contact Suzanne by phone direct at (516) 503-7959 or email at: sueplayer@1sthomesteadmortgage.com.

Spend time with you asking lots of questions up front so that they:  *  make sure the mortgage you want makes sense for you (& explain why not if the broker has concerns)  *  avoid surprises that might cause a problem at the last minute2.
