I started to invest in real estate in the late 1960's and early 1970's in Portland Or.  I specialized in single family homes.  In 1973 I got my Oregon Real Estate Salesmans license.  Primary purpose of getting that license was to purchase my own properties.  By 1979 I pretty much got out of the real estate investments and dropped my license to concentrate on my corprate career as a systems analyst and software designer.  This continued until my retirement from Electronic Data Systems (EDS) in 2005.  My wife had retired from the State of Michigan as a land specialist in 2002.  She already had her Michigan Real Estate Brokers license.  Upon my retirement we decided to move to her home town of Rockport, Tx.

After enjoying retirement for abt 2 months I said enough was enough and sat for my Texas Real Estate Sales license exame in 2006.  My wife had already earned her Texas Real Estate Brokers license and was working for Coldwell Banker in Aransas Pass, Tx.  After I had earned my sales license I joined her in Aransas Pass.  We worked out of the Coldwell Banker office in Aransas Pass for two years, achieving a modicom of success.  When gas reached over $4.00 a gallon and the phones quite ringing in Aransas Pass we decided to work out of an office closer to home in Rockport.  We joined the Coldwell Banker office in Rockport but sales were few and far between.  Meanwhile I sat for my Texas Real Estate Brokers license and achieved the Graduate Real Estate Institute (GRI) designation.  After a year working out of the Coldwell Banker office we had an offer to move to ERA Team Coastal in the historic district of Rockport.  We both felt it would be a good move.  We were wrong - 3 months after we started working out of the ERA office it closed it's doors.  Currently we, along with many of our team mates at ERA, have moved to the Realty World Rockport offices.

Certifications

Since starting in Real Estate sales in Texas Dee and I have taken the approach of being a Real Estate Consultant.  Our first and only priority is our client.  We will never push a client into anything that they do not want.  Our goal is 110% client satisfaction.  We channel our aggressivness in getting the best deal for our client.  The coastal bend area of South Texas between Corpus Christi and Rockport has a wide variety of residential and commercial properties.  There are multimillion dollar mansions on and off the water to  weekend fish camps and everything between.  The oil and gas industry is prevallant, especially near Corpus.   In Rockport, the tourist industry is it's primary support.  This provides for a very diverse economy throughout the Coastal Bend area.
