It gets baked into the price of goods Pete Xavier. Just like how government mandated minimum wage hikes lead to higher prices which lead back to the same level (or less) of extra money for the wage earners.
I fear this exact thing.. unfortunately destroying wealth simply takes money from productive uses to non-productive (government)...
Exactly what I was referring to, Pete Xavier. Sadly, there is a large part of our population who just don't WANT to see or understand that.
You bet...and the salaries and benefits of those who work for the corporation are impacted as well, Ryan Huggins - Thousand Oaks, CA.
It's true, Celia Moore! If your corporation is required to pay more taxes and want to keep your net/net where it was last year (or higher), you're going to take a cut out of the underlings' salaries and/or their benefit packages. And, sadly, it's going to the government for them to spend any way our elected officials see fit - and as usual our elected officials could care less what we want them to do with it!
Ken Jones yes, we have already seen our gas prices going up.
Ken, I am all too afraid you are right. Hoping this all goes away like a bad dream right now...
Celia Moore, It's NOT going away (unfortunately). It's only going to get MUCH worse.
Look out your window at the crowds of anarchists who are destroying your city. They are the footsoldiers driving the policies of the current administration.
Thanks for noting the gas prices Ken, a big leap in such a short time. We'll need to hold on to our hats for sure.
Susan Emo Canadian or not, I welcome your opinion.
Susan I've got a Canadian client from Ontario that is really upset about being locked down again and the government is acting like dictators. They had planned to come to Phoenix Jan/Feb but that is off the table for now
Thank you Kathy Streib I appreciate you saying that.
Anna Banana Kruchten CRS CRB, Phoenix Broker I'm of two minds with our latest Stay at Home Order (which was just extended to at least Feb 9) Part of me feels very strongly that businesses are being crippled up here but I also don't have the luxury of being out and about either, being such high risk myself and with my Mother. I often think if people had just listened and did what they were told a year ago, would we be so bad now? I don't know the answer and I do not envy those in office here, having to make the tough decisions.
Hopefully Biden’s stated opposition to it along with stepped up cost basis is little more than hyperbole meant to satisfy the ‘Sandernistas.’ They have much more pressing matters to deal with before the 2022 midterm elections.
No need to wait...there is not a single good proposal, but several pathetic ones.
Skunks don't change their stripes...
Eve
Eve, I am hoping all talk of 1031 elimination is just a bad dream. Post-covid it has not been seen in any of Biden's proposals.. so for now, I'd move quick and move forward with that 1031 exchange.
Before nonsense takes over.
Well they are very good at destroying... unfortunately destroying wealth simply takes money from productive uses to non-productive (government).
all too afraid of everything you just said Scott... hopefully we will see a different outcome.
Opening the borders during a pandemic - SUCH a smart move!
Yes! There goes any chance of trying to get out of middle class to focus on philanthropy goals..
And who really pays the corporate/business tax? It's NOT the corporations. (I know you know this one Debe, this is for those to ponder the facts of the matter.)
