Hella, I am no help here. I hold one license and work in one County within the state.  It seems to me that marketing effort would be better served separately ... but what do I know

Hella,

In my opinion, they are two distinct marketplaces.  They each deserve their own marketing.  What we share in common is the Pacific Ocean, and even that is distinctly different on each side.  A

On the mortgage side it's easier, but I create different lead generation systems in different areas, and use my networks in each area to keep things successful in all of my markets.

Hella Mitschke Rothwell In your case I believe it can be done because you can attract CA buyers to purchase in Hawaii.

of course, it can be done....I was once licensed in MA and RI..... and I marketed both....SEPARATELY.... two separate locations...two different niche areas.... I'd focus on each individually and market to those who will be searching for what you have in your inventory.....

California is enough for me.  90% of my business is within East County area.  The rest in my greater MLS area.  It has been years sense I did anything outside of Contra Costa or Alameda Counties; primary MLS areas.  I am working with more investors so for that I tend to move further afield.

Thank you all for your validation that I should keep them separate, which is what I'm doing. Real estate is very different too, Hawaii is a "lien" state whereas California is a "trustee" state. Hawaii is also big with condos, and its laws are very intricate to say the least.

Good morning Hella. I do mortgages in eight states, blogging is the best way for me to handle reaching out. It continues to work best for me.

Make it a great week!

I'm only licensed in one state, but if I were licensed in more, I would have seperate listings.

Hella - I think you answered your own question when you say, "I have two different niches and teams". I would market them completely separate, but like someone else mentioned, still have links to one another.

I don't have experience in this area, but I would think marketing them separately would be the way to go. You are probably targeting different buyers, so I would market them as their own.

I would do each separately but occasionally tie the two together with some specail posts. You never know who is looking and when.

I think the answer is obvious - 2 different marketing plans and budgets.  This is especially important for real estate where it's it's important to be a local expert.

It sounds like you are already doing this w/ 2 niches and 2 teams.

Hi Hella - how fortunate for you.  I think two separate marketing campaigns is the way I would go although you might want to incorporate that you hold a license in both states as a tag line.

Have you found many clients who need your service in both states?

One of my team members has a two-state business. He has a team in the other state like you do and different websites and advertising for each. But you can access everything from all his sites through links.

I prefer one brand serving CA and HI. I would add links to either state on one website with the counties you serve, Oahu, Maui, Kauai, Monterey, Orange County, Riverside. Dare to be unique and show California and Hawaiian homeowners how to own real estate in the mainland or Hawaii. Kanaka Maoli.

Hi Hella Mitschke Rothwell I would love to know more how you do it.  I am thinking of getting my Arizona license as we live there as well as California.

Arizona wants me to come stay there to study for the license in a classroom not online, they have no other types of study.  I cannot get away right now for 9 weeks of a course, too much going on here in California.  But I often wonder how that would work out.
