It depends on the seller.  I usually contact then there's something noteworthy to report.  If they only want to know major stuff, I advise them of things of that nature as they arise.

While we are experiencing a shift, our market remains fairly active so updates depend on the seller and the timeline we may have established.   

I establish a day and time when the listing is being taken.

I use a mutually acceptable day for each seller since each seller has a different schedule.

Hi, Paul. I also use Monday, because a lot of showings tend to happen on the weekend. For me it's a natural way to start the work week.

We send out updates on Fridays usually - unless there is something more urgent - such as offers that came in over the weekend.

I prefer tuesday because weekend showings can generate monday offers.

However, I am of the opinion that we should have the signed contract once seller is ready to sign.

I refer the home sellers to associates at RE/MAX Realty Group and leave it up to them to make the contacts.
