I'm listening to a webinar from taxbot right now. Seems they offer a very convenient way to record all expenses.

I have an empty log page I print out .. goes on a clipboard that slides in next to my seat.. I turn the key.. I reach for the clipboard ... mileage, tolls, parking fees, medical mileage (doctor visits & pharmacy runs) it's all documented .. and so easy to do.

I have seen people be successful with both apps and paper notepad. The thing is to be sure to do one or the other regularly. Trust me, it is worth it. Mileage is a big thing.

Joshua Hess I use a paper trip log to record business use. The IRS will ask if you can prove your use. Using the vehicle 100% more than likely won't support the depreciation.

I don't bother, as I just use the mileage on my car as it's used solely for business.
