Tammy - We always had dogs, but we recently lost ours completely out of the blue. Our boxer, named Gracie, got ill and passed away in 3 days. The vet had no idea what was wrong with her. I still come home expecting to see her greet me.

Since I was 5 years old... my parents finally got me a cat as I kept dragging home cats and dogs I found on the streets. We lost our Gracie to a massive stroke a few weeks ago so right now "dogless," but not for long. Oliver the cat is still here.
