Sorry, Will. Don't own a camera (except what's in my phone and even that gets rarely used)... so I'm no help in this regard.

Where is that neighborhood camera shop that went out of business when you need them?

Will,
Go to a camera store and get some expert advice. This should give you a great idea of what type of camera will fit in your hands, weight/size, etc. None of us are experts here (unless their professional photographers and videographers). Talk to the experts, test it out in the store. And then go comparison shopping if you are trying to get the best price... A

Will - There are a lot of options out there for sure, and sometimes it is overwhelming. Hopefully, after reading these answers, and researching on your own, you will find the right camera for your needs.

Good morning Will. It all depends upon your level of development as a photographer or videographer. Is a lot of good cameras out there and price points are all over the map

Hi Will do a Google search and PCMag or CNET rates these items. There is a lot of info out there.

Most any camera will do acceptable video but if you are very serious consider getting one that will allow an external microphone, has a good backlight and a shoe for attaching a supplemental light. You also need a shoe for a tripod.

I hope Larry stops by, he can help you. I am kind of looking forward to something like the gopro. I get too much movement on my video.

I like your question and appreciate the responses. I am in the market for one also.

I have a few year old GE X500 (similar to a Cannon) that does great video. I've seen great ones done with phones too. I mount my GE camera on a tripod that is mounted on a wheeled base to allow me to walk through the house. That is my preferred style of virtual tour, as opposed to the room by room where they just pan left to right.

It depends on how much you want to spend. A good starter camera for video for around $1000.00, I would check out Panasonic FZ-1000. You can do some research on www.dpreview.com

Depending onthe quality of the video you want you amy want one that just takes video's, otherwise, most good quality DSLR's take good video's

There are some great YouTube videos online that deal with the topic. Just make sure you watch the most recent ones since the equipment changes so quickly.

I just use an old canon camera that I bought at walmart 5 years ago for about a hundred dollars.
It gets the job done, and takes a lot of abuse.

Ken nailed it. You can never go wrong with the Canon DSLRs. They're getting to the point these days where they rival the high $$$ video cameras that most of your regular production companies use.

I use my I phone but then again the tricky part is turning video into something and that is a totally different discussion.

What would be the easiest and most suitable for you to learn, it would be best to go to an expert at Radio Shack or an other Camera & Electronics store for best custom selection for you. Canon is always a good one!
