Yes, i do try to get to everyone who leaves me a comment, some days are so busy it may take a day, but it is a great way to build an audience and expand ones circle by reading new blogs. 

This is what I do daily.

For many years, I have reciprocated on comments and it is a very good practice if you can do it. My time for reciprocation is coming to an end as I reduce my activity on ActiveRain.

While I do not comment on every comment left, I do visit posts by those who comment on mine.

I try to acknowledge on their comment on my post.

If they have an interesting post I would read and comment; if they have a number of good posts I would follow them to keep informed better.

I did not know this when I joined, but somewhere along the road I learned.  Yes, even when you get 100+ comments for a feature I reciprocate a comment.  It takes a while....

I don't track down their blogs, but I do like their comment and/or reply to it.  That's as polite as I feel is required.
