Just about everything we clean can be done with white vinegar, water, and Dawn. Avoid chemicals.

Carol,

Nice tip.  We have someone clean for us every other week.  It helps us be more productive, one less thing to do.  A

Great tip here Carol, and lots of good ones below as well.

Fortunately I have been very successful at finding someone else to do most of these types of things.  I have found that after watching me make a feeble attempt at various cleaning tasks someone will always step in and say, "let me do that for you".

It started with my girlfriend taking pity on me in college over me not sorting my laundry and ending up with seriously tinted clothes.

And that same girl still prefers that I stay out of her way while she keeps our house much cleaner that i would ever be capable of doing.

I have suggested several times over the last 30+ years that she relax and hire someone, but she will have nothing of it and would probably have to do more cleaning before merry maids showed up anyway.

I hire it done but also clean in between and with them because nobody does it like I do. My favorite shortcut is to use a lint roller on lampshades, curtains or drapes to remove the dust build up. It is quick and easy and I don't have to drag out the vacuum.

My home is easy to keep clean.  My husband helps.  Cleaning services don't clean the way I like and some valuable items disappeared.  I like your tip.  I think I will try the tip.  Thank you.

My cleaning lady shared a secret for cleaning shower bottoms...Easy Off.  Works like a charm.  But you can only use on certain types of shower bottoms.

Carol, I am with you.  I've hired cleaning services and they just don't clean the way I want my home cleaned.  I do my own home cleaning ... thank you very much. I am not semi-retired either. My cleaning tip is to crank up the tunes ... and dance as I clean.
