You must consider your intent regarding this email list.

Are you wanting only home owners?

How about renters? Men? Women? Two seasons from moving up? Community conscience? Those seeking relevance? Influencers? Those with a specific need. Or simply anything with a heartbeat on the other side?

Based on who you want, offer something of recognized value (a digital product) for which they can get INSTANT delivery (ACK email)

It may be more productive to NOT go the email route and in it's place use 'inbound' marketing strategies. You will still get the email of many, but the plan is significantly different.


Let's assume the 'any heartbeat will do' objective.

Start now to plan your participation in the coming Earth Day events in your area. Prepare to present concepts of WalkableHome and how the sharing economy is making the economic liberty model WH presents even easier to realize.

Since none of that means anything to you, simply invite attendees of the Earth Day event to submit their 'six work memoir' regarding the environment for display. Powers that be will select the winner and all participants will win. Need your email.

You can host an event if it's a specific geographic area, otherwise maybe your local Chamber of Commerce can help?

Marc is kind of right.  Emails are difficult now to get opened. I wouldn't worry about this.  I would focus on prospects with full contact info including mailing address.

Here an idea I used eons ago when email was new. ( the dark ages, right?)

In my monthly newsletter I asked people to email me for chance to win gift card to local grocery store.  Might still work.
