Very happy with Verizon and no issues with dropped calls ever. My iPad is tied into my phone for $10/mo so I am always able to access no matter where I am unless I don't have phone serive - it was great even in Italy! Unlimited calls, roaming, and texts

I really like my "Total Wireless" through Walmart. $35.00 a month for unlimited text and talk. 2MB data (I think but I never use my data anyway) and it uses Verison and AT&T towers so I always have good coverage.

Yes moving away from att is a wise move, in my survey this past summer, Verizon was the clear winner.

I use verizon because it has the best coverage (by far) in our area.  Sometimes shopping around helps you get the best deal.

Praful, I'm a big fan of the bulk resellers like Virgin Mobile, Smart Talk, etc.  You pay about half the cost or less, buy the phone out right and have no contract.  I cut my sprint bill from $120 to $35 by switching to Virgin Mobile many years ago.  Just changed to Google's Project Fi network and one of their new phones.  Can't imagine going back to the main carriers ever again.

I switched from AT&T about 7 years ago to T-Mobile. I'd had enough of their non-existent customer service, high fees, etc. Just drove 3 minutes down the road to T-Mobile and voila! all done... and saved at least $100/month at the end of the day. One reason I like T-Mobile is their ability to "service" me when I'm overseas.

I still use Verizon. I don;tthink it's good to jump around. ATT has lots of dropped calles in this area, and others are even worse. What I did was, I went to ATT and bought another phone and got the pre-paid service so I could compare it to Verizon. I found ATT was ok in most cases, but the signal wasn't as strong in mountains. It might have gotten better since then, but I don't see any reason to switch from Verizon.

Good morning Praful.  I had Verizon a couple of years ago.  Should have stayed with them.  I have AT&T now, the contract will be up in December, I'm switching back to Verizon.  I did however I am taking note of Bob "RealMan" Timm and will check out the plan.  The only issue there is the amount of data.  So I'll probably go back to Verizon and stay there.

I use Sprint.  I pay $300. a month for 4 phones with shared 1500 minutes during business hours, unlimited evenings and weekends, unlimited data, text nd internet on the phone.  I also, had a MIFI that I could take anywhere and have internet on any computer.  The MIFI was $50 a month.  The coverage is good anywhere I go.

Praful Thakkar I have Verizon and am very pleased with the coverage. I got a free iPhone last year for signing a two year contract. The only thing I dislike is they keep sneaking up the monthly fee. Every time they give you something, you better read the fine print.

If the coverages were all the same I would concider changing for price; the phone is 80% a cost of doing business so a write of.

Might depend of service - e.g. in my area Verizon works, but AT&T does not (we have a Microcell in our home). $1K sounds very steep.

I'm with Verizon. Its the only service that works in the majority of the locations I go to during the day.  I'm in a hilly rural area.  I wish I could get a cheaper provider, but the plans sold at Walmart don't work well outside the city.  I'm too cheap to buy a phone, I just get the best free phone I can find.

I think you can do better. I get a phone for $19 (2 years) $30 for unlimited data & $30 calls & text with Sprint.

AT&T has bad service in my area with too many dead zones.

Used to have Virgin Mobile but they didn't have enough phones to choose from. You have to pay upfront for the phone & then $45 or $55 per mo after that.

The more data that you use on your phone will make you realize that with Virgin, Total Wireless & a few others you are a 'secondary' customer. So Virgin goes thru Sprint but Sprint customers go first on the network making your phone slower or only offering 3G instead of 4G.  It's ok as long as you know that you won't be 'burning' crazy speed.
