I think you have to use the HTML editor to embed a video. That's what I think you are asking for.
Here I found a tutorial by Craig Daniels.

Without knowing the details of what you are trying I cant say why you are getting an error.
Sometimes it helps to mix it up a bit, some days an embed code works better and other days a url works better, if you would like some help give me a call and maybe we can work through the problem.

Good morning Laura Andersen . You're not copying the correct embed code.
Laura Andersen - grab the embed code from YouTube video and use 'video' icon in the bar, paste the code. It should work - it's simple.
Call me if you have any other questions.
if you can't figure it out give me a call and I will talk you through it.
You can not be using the photo insert. It has to be the video upload or do it in the html portion of the editor and make sure you are using the embed code if you do that.
I'd say you would need to get the embedd link and post it in the blog when in source code view (the <> icon).
Make sure you are using the embed code.
You need to find the embed code. Usually, if you go to the video and then go to share, you will often then see the embed code (sometimes you may need to push the next button.
then copy and paste that into the html on your blog post. To do that, select "<>" and then paste it.
I hope that made sense.
Laura, you may want to contact tech support.

It might be because you're doing it on a smart phone instead of a PC
I always use the embed code TY provides. Are you using the right feature in the editor (add a video) to copy and paste this code?
Are you talking about Active Rain? A

Sometimes it's best if we don't know the answer not to guess or speculate. I just went through this post and I felt like I was in Home depot asking a newbie for a left handed sky hook. They will take you though every aisle rather than say "I don't know".
Laura - Hopefully Lyn Sims or Ken Jones have provided you with the answer you were looking for. If not, and it is related to Active Rain, I would contact someone on the staff.
If you are referring to ActiveRain -- there have been many good responses given.
Thanks for the question.
I don't know what you've been doing, but it's easy and works for me.
Laura, how did you make this work?
You can, you have to copy and paste an embedded link. Search AR tutorial, there are many blog tutorials about it.
