It only takes about 20 minutes to get it posted on the MSL, but I like to have the professional photos taken before I put a house on the market. And the big post sign takes a couple of days here.

Depends on the condition of the home and the schedule of my photographer.  I always ask "Do you want it done fast or do you want it done right?"

2 -3 hours if needed, and depending on the property. But for photos, great marketing, a thorough and accurate MLS listing, more time is important. I have never had this become an issue, especially when sellers understand the value of doing it right

As fast as the Seller can get it Ready for Showtime, following which come the professional photographs.  We have a process.  We've closed every listing we've taken since June 2011 using it.  We don't let Sellers "modify" it.  Period!

It really depends Hella.  I could get it on the MLS and have the marketing "started" in a couple of hours.  I am not sure that is the right approach for the "weekend traffic" given that there is another weekend in 5 days. 

I am not surprised that you pulled a rabbit out of the hat and got-er-done!

I can't do the sign right away (we have a special service to do that) but I can run over, take pictures, edit and upload them, write the marketing, and get it in MLS in a few hours. However, I'd prefer to have more time to do a better job.

I can click a button and go live with an MLS listing, and we have timed me in the past and I can get a sign hammered into the ground in less than 3 minutes if the ground isn't too hard. LOL! But the operative term in the Q is 'marketing started' because marketing takes more time than that . . . and that always presupposes that the data sheet is completed and the property is ready for photographs . . . mailings, blogging, video and individual websites take more time than that. Still, if the seller wants it up and running fast, I think most of us could make that happen, technology being what it is.

 I may get my hands on a sign, but the personal sign with property website wouldn't be complete.   

On the other hand if the property was ready to show and the homeowner wanted to get it done NOW, I'm sure it would happen, MLS and marketing with signage.

It depends on if the sellers house was already photographed. Putting info in the mls can be done in one hour or less. Syndication could take 2-3 days. probably mls is only thing that will generate weekend interest if buyers are shopping in that area and price range.

I don't like to throw a listing up with proper planning.....need professional photos taken, brochures designed and photos in the MLS when its made live..if the seller wants top dollar best to make sure it's done professionally..at least a week. If they don't care..upload in MLS in half a day and see what happens..not my style!

I can do it less professsionally almost immediately. You want top of the line marketing with professional photos, brochures, etc.... 7-10 days. As Susan Emo said -- do you want it done fast or done right? I've used this line a lot.

Taking pictures takes me the longest. Our MLS is integrated with our tax records, and that helps in getting a lot of the information in there, but I do double check to make sure it is correct information.
