I got that number right and like Bob Crane said many own more than one. I work with a fellow that had about 20 at one time. He lives on a farm and had exotic ones like an ostrich, pet pig and camel plus the usual ones.
And some of us Americans are owned by more than one pet.
Doesn't surprise me. In Naples one of the major advertising comments for listings is if the building or complex is allows pets. There are "poop" stations everywhere for people walking their dogs and forget to bring a baggy. Naples is definitely pet friendly!
That's too bad - thought it would be higher :)
Panama City, FL
I think if everyone had a fur ball it would be a happier planet.
Can you believe I am part of the 35%. I would love to have a dog but know I don't have the time to give a pet right now. It's a lot of responsibility. Great information to know. Have a great day Conrad Allen!
Fred Griffin presently...
Good morning Conrad. That is pretty neat, wasn't aware that the number was that high.
oh wow I was under a bit
Conrad Allen wow! And some home owns more than one pet!
With that, it seems Pet population is competing with humans, at least here in US....
I thought I was close
Wow! But I'm not really surprised. Pets are great buddies.
I said 60% I was close
70% in Carmel, California....we are the pet friendliest city! Dogs are allowed to run leash free on our beautiful Carmel Beach, you can bring your pet shopping in the stores and to outside dining areas, you can even get a beautiful room at the Cypress Inn (owned by Doris Day) that has a cushy bed for your dog, treats and a water bowl!
A lot, especially in Los Angeles where a lot of single people or couples without kids.
I actually knew that as I included it in a blog post I wrote last week. I still need to publish on here.
I guess that makes me part of the elite 35%, Conrad. (My pet rock not being counted in the mix.)
Conrad Allen Leased a space to a Vet a little while ago. I believe it. We have two dogs.
It is good to hear that at least 65% are enjoying unconditional love from their pets...someone who does not criticize them or expects them to be anything but themselves. A
A lot of strays are not included.....
I did not know.
It surprises me, in that it's that low. :P
Shoot, I knew I should have said higher. Thanks for the info.
That is higher than i thought as many homes have mor e than 1 pet, yet there are much more homes i know that have no pets over those that do.
I thought the number would be higher, Thanks Conrad
We are in the 65%, with 3 cats.
The percentage may be higher in our neighborhood.
