I had published a handful of blogs before I upgraded to rainmaker. All I had to do was click on my blog, hit the little edit button, scroll to the bottom, and change members only to public. That does not re-publish, just updates. So comments, points, etc. stay the same. It also doesn't "push" the blog back to the top

After you upgrade you will need to go back and edit any older posts to make them public.

A simple process, call me if you need any help with this.

You can edit the original blog and change the audience to public.  The general consensus is to repost the blog as a new blog so it gets indexed by Google quicker.

As others have said, once you make the leap to rainmaker (good decision!) you'll need to edit your older blogs to make them public.  It's a quick fix if you don't have too many posts.

I believe all you need to do is edit the post and change status to public so it can be viewed by all. Just make sure that any posts that are Members Only are OK, in your opinion, to be shared with the public before changing the status.

I think if I was going to change to Public I will probably rewrite using better tags, links and quality content to make the modified blog better.

If the post has been set to "members only" then you manually need to change it to "public" if you want the particular post to be viewed by the public.  ActiveRain will not automatically change the settings on the post.  You need to change each post separately.

You will need to change it from members to public.  It won't change automatically. Sometimes a post is intended to be members only ... regardless of account status.
