Scam is scam. Fraud is fraud. Delete and move on. I wouldn't even respond as you don't know what they might do once they have your email address as valid.

One possibility - they want your bank account to "wire a deposit" for when you find the house.
BTW, I live in a University town. Everybody here has a PhD. Everybody is a "Dr.". It doesn't necessarily mean medical doctor.

The very least of this is they verify a working email address if you respond. Scams come later when they sell the address on the open market. The best of this? You have a busy doctor wanting someone to jump in. Realistically, why wouldn't they go with a recco from a friend, neighbor or associate?

I'm guessing they want to get your email address confirmation as well as anything else in your signature so they can try and do some spoofing of your account.

yes. Same here twice.
The red flags are Dr and no phone # ; how they find you or referral name.
In our area, physicians can not afford above avg priced homes. They do not make enough to get adequate mortgages. May be two physicians wage.

Don't doctors usually sign " Anne Bradford M.D." ? Family residential for investment?

Maybe the scammers think that calling themselves Doctor will give them gravitas that could trick us into answering back!

... then they will buy it site unseen and get an attorney involved and send a bank draft in excess of the amount and so on.

Mimi,
They must be practicing all over the country...And if they were MD's they would not sign as Dr. One of our best friends is a PhD and he never uses it as part of his signature, unless it is for the University. A

LOL..if they were new to town wouldn't they need to buy a house? And, why would a doctor want an investment property. Would they have time?. I agree w/ your assessment.

No one says "family residential home" in the real world. Someone pulled words from a real estate book for a scam. Frankly, I'm shocked they didn't say "single family residential home".

scam is as scam does - just block the email address or the ip address - contact your isp they can help you as well
