This is real. My daughter and her husband wanted to move but with 65% increase in health insurance their premium will be double what their current house payment is. Put the two together and it exceeds my daughter's monthly salary by 25%.

That has already happened with my health insurance costs.  What happens when my health insurance premium is more than my mortgage payment ... it is getting close! Do I then need to sell and become homeless?

Yes, but I think it's all taxes.  I have a young family who really wants to buy a house, but their health insurance just jumped 51%.  In additon, the valuation for property in our county is skyrocketing, resulting in a "hidden" tax.  And the politicians say they aren't raising taxes.

No. Sales are not going to decrease because of the undeclared tax called obamacare here in FLorida.

Those in the emerging 'sharing' economy have a different take on how this will play out. They have created for themselves a more diversified personal economy.

There will are be those on the margins who are effected by any bump in the economy. Buyers, those millennial who have postponed buying, are better qualified than those who preceded them.

But, let me not distract you. obamacare is the greatest prevalent threat to sucking many into the abyss of bankruptcy.

When it comes down to paying a mortgage or paying health care premiums, I believe the mortgage will win out.  However, the Affordable Health Care Act is anything but affordable.  My personal increases this year are so high that I am looking at a co-op option which will save almost $1000 a month in premiums.

My son was self insured and had a great policy. When the ACA became law the insurance company he was with told him they could not insure him anymore. The ACA was triple the cost of his previous insurance with a $6,000 deductible. He chose not to be insured, which worries me. He checked again this year and said both premiums and the deductible were even worse. He's 38 and said if he had the ACA all his life with the high deductible they would have never paid a single claim for him. As for single payer, just check out the VA system to see if that works any better.

Yes, I do think that buyers will postpone anything, until the election and knowing what their insurance costs are. The Affordable Health Care plan has many good parts to it, but there has to be something done to lower the premiums, with lower deductibles. It won't affect the regular W-2 earner so much, but more a self employed businessman like myself.  By doing the math, $12,000 deductible, $1000 month premiums, I choose to pay the penalty of $695, and not have insurance. Spending $24,000 a year, and then after that they only cover 70% is worse than spending $695 a year for not having it. Last time I was in a hospital (not visiting people) was when I was 7 years old. I'll take the gamble and wait until I get on Medicare. Clinton wants to lower Medicare to 55, so I'm all for that.

My health insurance costs remained extactly the same, but I work for a wonderful company.  I don't see that many Borrowers who have Obama care,  unfortunately they can't afford HMO or PPO any more. Will it change the market? Yes for  first time buyers
