Actually me wife and I go to Dim Sum brunch. However, tradition is going to the Turkey Bowl that morning. Firiends I grew up with started playing touch football when we were 10 years old. This year we celebrate the 58th Turkey Bowl. We are a few steps slower but we beciome those 10 year olds one day per year. Pictures will be coming.

We are having a small group so I am cooking less. I am roasting a turkey, making dressing, sweet potatoes, green beans, corn, cranberries, deviled eggs and rolls. I will make pecan and pumpkin pies. Yes the diet starts on Sunday or Monday.

Our Thanksgiving is in October each year and I stopped with the "traditional" many moons ago.  I do not like turkey.  Most people no longer inhale desserts either.  This year I made individual Turkey Wellingtons stuffed with blueberries and brie cheese.  They turned out beautifully and I'm always able to sneak my turkey onto the plate of whomever sits next to me!!  I also made Potato Stacks with Parmesan and rosemary, Sweet Potato Rounds with goat cheese, pecans and dried cranberry drizzled with blood orange olive oil and honey.  Of course our favourite side is Roasted Root Veggies with garlic and herbs.  Especially heritage multi coloured carrots, Golden & Candy Cane Beets, pearl onions, baby potatoes - this gets inhaled!!  Our starter this year was an Autumn Sangria

I cook a turkey with stuffing but vary the recipe year to year. We always have potatoes of some sort, plus brussels sprouts, and home made cranberry sauce. Dessert usually includes both pecan and apple pies. Happy Thanksgiving!

This year however, he wanted a break so we're stepping outside our tradition and buying a rotisserie chicken and store bought sides LOL
