It seems like an expensive toy ... that said I do not have direct experience with it.

I believe that Florida Tolbert Team of Keller Williams Realty Port St Lucie, FL , aka Kevin Tolbert was an early investor in this system an it seems to work well for him.

At $4500 plus monthly expenses I think it is an expensive toy that doesn't give me the ROI I need. Expect a lot of emerginf compnaies and technologies to bring prices down quickly, but if you are made of money why not?

Thanks so much for the prompt response. seems like the concensus is it is a good "toy" and clients like it, but it is better to hire someone to do the work rather than buy the camera.

I use them/offer them on every listing. Clients love them, buyers seem to too. I hire it done, I'd never buy the camera nor shoot my own listings. I have a guy that does my photos, matterport & drone: 3 hours typically under 2,000 sqft.
Here's my latest coming to market January 11,2017

Don't laugh, but when I've seen listings that have had them, it gives me motion sickness!

Yes I thought it was cool also until I saw the price of the camera. There are plenty of people doing it now in our area. Some agents don't like how they look but I think in certain situations they are helpful.

It is a good product but some non-techies have issues with its use.

I really like it in theory. But they still don't have a smooth transition from view to view.

I wouldn't use it on just any listing because of the expense...

Very cool, yes. Like any technology the price will likely be reduced and the quality improved over time.

Unless you are already driving a LOT of traffic to your home videos and undertstand how to keep people engaged, I would question the investment.
I notice a LOT of people do video, and the home goes pending even before the videos are added. In the end that means -0- ROI.
Remember your investment is not only the equipment, but also your time in writing your script, and also shooting and editing.

Matterport created a captive coral of photographers at a hefty price for the equipment and for the editing and hosting. We opted for a much lower priced alternative and with open market of editing and hosting choices. Let's see matterport camera $4500 and all the necessary added equipment another $2500, then hosting versus our system $325 Camera and $20/mo editing and hosting for up to 20 properties. It's not Rocket Science

It is great tech but unless you are marketing a luxury home well over a million... what is the ROI? It is just too expensive right now. There are monthly fees besides the initial cost.

The tours I've seen I have not liked. Took too long to open for me. In my book, I wouldn't spend the money on it.

I have no experience with it simple because of your 2 last words.... But Expensive!

Most cameras can do video and rather than invest in a special camera, use a good camera you can use for many other purposes and find an editing program that will create the effect you want.

Let me respond by asking a question.
Would you spend $1,000 a month for a presence on Zillow ($12,000 a year) or spend $5,000 for something that is incredibly leverageable AND creates a strategic advantage for you?
Season your response with information available to you regarding what consumers are looking for in the real estate agents they hire.
Or do a little market research of your own.
Now, take a good look at what other 'biggies' in real estate do, such of the owner of Active Rain. They like to own, NOT rent impressions.
The tools of professionals are expensive. Such tools wielded by a visionary are game changers.

Yes, I looked into this & thought it was great & some agents are using it but after I saw the price of the camera, the rate of return was not worth it to me.

Our brokerage offers that for all listings. I think they're 'cool' but, I still like my walk-through virtual tour that the user doesn't have to do anything but, sit back and watch as the videographer walks through their new home!

I use still photo's and I have all kinds of people looking at my listings and it doesn't take me hours to seet up. It leaves me more time to market myself

This toy seems way out of my budget. Interesting to see what the experience has been from those who have one.

I am not familiar with this equipment. I hope you will blog about your experience.
