Marco, it is business as usual.  The suspension has not impacted us here one bit.  FHA's MMI fund only met the Congressional mandated threshold of 2% in 2015 and last year there was about a 15% increase so the numbers do, perhaps, merit further investigation before the new administration makes a final decision.  

Hmmm, if the previous administration believed in this so strongly why didn't they reduce the rate six  months ago instead of the last few days in office???  

It was my understanding that it wasn't because of a annual fee, but it had to do with the percentage of mortgage insurance needed. Regardless, I think it was prudent to put it on hold for a review right away rather than wait until the program would no longer be able to sustain itself.

To answer your question, no, it didn't affect my customers directly. I spoke with one of my lenders and it did affect several mortgages they had in process, but they were able to work them out.

Not at all, in fact, this has been my craziest, busiest week this year! 3 FHA buyers under Contract, primarily because they don't want to wait for the rates to increase, Marco Giancola.  Not one of them mentioned the fee being higher than they had hoped.

I spoke with several lenders this week and totally forgot to ask the exact amount the 'stir' is about - somehow, I get the sense it's insignificant.

nope.  I'm in a second home/ retirement area and it's the rarest of times my buyers aren't putting 20% down.  And when I do work with 1st buyers I try to guide them to more down payment and convential loans where PMI can drop off at some point.
