I would start with an e-book and an offer online to see if your lead capture warrants going to a print version of a book. I'm not sure the power of a book so many agents publish them now it's no longer "novel".

I subscribed to this service but haven't received my books yet.  In the meantime I took his 99 suggestions for selling a house and condensed it to 25 and have had a good response to it.

Chris Curry's program is about building authority. Why do you think so many who are so famous have books written? Anyone who has ever changed anything has a book.

Now, let me assure you, many would not know what do do with a book, and if you are one of those, stay away from this opportunity.

However, I have had profiles of my business included in books.
I have published books related to real estate.
I have published non-real estate books that are directly related to quality of life issues.
I even published a highly localized book call '100 Days of Summer.'

Having a resource such as a book IS a door opener. It is your choice whether it is a digital door opener or a material door opener or BOTH.

However, you must be aware that you must work the tool you have. It will work if you work it. (that is true of EVERY real estate business opportunity) 250 books on a shelf are only reminders of money poorly spent.

If your intent is to attract new clients, you must focus your message on leading the citizen to the transformation they are seeking. If your intent is to dispense information, to satisfy their need, you will discover a needs based book to be ineffective in growing your client list.

Of course book will work,

But the won't work for everyone.

I have never read a book in real estate. Most of those books are written by ghost writers as super sales person often can not even spell well.

There are many options for customizing published real estate info.  The problem, as I see it, is they are too generic and not fluid enough for the constantly changing dynamics of local real estate.    As mentioned in other comments, blogging is way more effective in today's environment.  It establishes you as a current local expert.

Great idea 30 years ago, now those booklets are called blogs, much more extensive, dynamic, and FREE.

Concentrate on localism and how-to posts and you will have no need for those expensive little books.

I know there are many resources from printing a book and it doesn't have to be through real estate channels. Many will not read a book so maybe other means would be better.

i'm not sure who this person is but the offer is not unique. Those books are usually very low quality and have no value nor for the agent, nor for your clients.
A beautifully printed listing presentation with pages who you are, your success records, your unique marketing approach, etc. will do much more for you.

A dead tree book?  Probably better off with a free ebook.  Who has time to read any more?  Let alone a book on real estate (unless it's a romance novel around real estate).

Never heard of Chris.  So how many agents are buying the same book to be printed out?  I would not do this. You can write your own e-books or hire somebody to do one just for you and copyright it.

Vicki,

A good way to part with your $$$ for very little return.  Unless you have written a best seller that has been edited and printed by a major publishing house, the branding value is not there at all.

Why would anyone want to do that? Write you own content and publish your own materials. If we want to be the authority in our local market then we need to BE the authority not use material written by someone else. It is also dishonest and deceptive putting my name on someone else's work.

That said, I am not a fan of that person's work.
