You shouldn't need to be sold by another party. You should do your own research and decide for yourself that that's what you want to do.

I prefer something much further North, but it is not bad in January.

Speaking as someone who recently purchased property in another state for a future home, the only thing that is going to sell you is the place itself. Go take a look during different times of the year. Spend time there eating the food, talking to people who live there, checking out different areas you might want to live in. Look at real estate property prices and see if there is a specific area that is perfect for your budget. If you have children, look into the schools. etc......  Good luck.

Are you an agent and plan to be an active agent there? If so, you need to know more about the market and how you will fit in and get established.

      Texas is a huge state.  Go there and explore it!

One should not sell you on a location. One should investigate it, if it is to your liking there is nothing to sell.  A

move to Massachusetts.... you'll love our winters.... 4 or 5' of snow.... zero degrees...blizzards....you'll learn to ski.... 

You have some market research to do.

I was not born in Texas, but as we love to say...I got here as fast as I could.

There are more wonderful reasons to move to the Dallas area than I can fit here...but a few are our robust economy, fabulous cultural amenities and great weather.

I've never been to Texas but if relocating there was a consideration I would travel there to explore.  It's a big place -- good luck.
