There are a lot of people who use their phones to find things out. Click on the safari app or get Siri geared up, and go! "How to buy a house" or "how to sell a house" or "is that house for sale?". If you aren't posting blogs with the answers to those questions, someone who is will be found.

    If you post it they will come.

Write 9-second blogs.

I think that the long blog post getting the seo is a myth.  People read and react to the short ones, and I suspect that this is noticed.

If it drives people to my listings and my website to search for homes, I don't care how much of a post they read. The blogging part for me is also a lot about "street cred" as is most of my social media... 

I gear my blogs towards what I believe to be viable questions people ask.  "What's my home worth?",  listing address, "Open houses in XXXX".  For those I think it still works.  Personally, I've cut social media out of my life and I'm VERY close to doing so with the business.  I've already limited it significantly and I'm going even further in the next few days. 

I am so totally with you. That has been my #1 thought on the whole subject. Who cares what G thinks when no one has the patience to read the post?

I'm still doing shorter posts no matter what SEO people say.

I prefer short blogs.

They do look at blogs on their phones. There are a variety of people out there. Some read details and others don't. 

I do not want to reach every one, just a few using keywords hidden in a blog that make it searchable. Although traffic is down since AR changes, I am still getting at least 1 new client a week from my AR blogs. SO that is worth it to me. Plus i like writing them and interacting with everyone

Blog posts are ranked and it does make the phone ring.

I agree to some degree. I believe that shorter is better for those with short attention spans - those with the 'want it now' mentality still have questions that we can answer quite thoroughly in short blog posts.

Blogs are still available to be read on a cell phone... they are like mini computers now.. consumers can search on their cell phones almost like the computer and find real estate information...After all 90 +% of consumers use a computer or cell phone to research real estate... of real estate related information

It is futile to think you can reach everybody. Some will tune in and some will not!

Clearly you do not understand the purpose of the PILLAR post, that exhaustive 2,000 to 10,000 word post.

I suggest you do more homework

HINT: it has nothing to do with the readers attention span.

Some older people still read  blogs.

I don't get through 2,000 word posts, but the public may, if it is interesting and something they are looking for.

Anything real long they pass over.

Review your marketing strategy. Take a look at your marketing mix. Analyze your goals and objectives. Assess the desired results. Then you'll be able to answer your question as to what results you wish to achieve.

That is a bit extreme.

I don't read long blogs and scan read most of them. If the topic is really interesting I will spend more time but not read 2000 words ever.
