At this stage of my life, I can't dedicate time to volunteer outside of an annual church event.  It IS on the list for life after kids in sports though.  ;0

My two latest and recent volunteer activities were cleaning up trash along roads for Adopt - A- Highway, and training people to use Narcan to reverse opiod overdoses. We handed out over 30 boxes of Narcan to those that attended the training.

Jack ~ Yes, I make time to volunteer at Meals on Wheels and the PTA for my son's elementary school.  Your investment in your community sounds very rewarding and I am sure the assistance was greatly appreciated.

I volunteer for high school sports 3 days a week and youth sports another 3 days a week.

Not weekly but I do some volunteer work.

When I was younger, yes I volunteered my time.

These days with time constraints, I donate and fund raise. 

It will come full circle as I age and I'll go back to volunteering-it's more rewarding to me.

I used to do that a lot but not much these days.

It's very satisfying to give your time freely to help others. I volunteer for a variety of organizations. One organization I like to volunteer for, and I bring my son along to help as well, is the Rake n Bake which is where we form teams & visit the home of an elderly or disabled neighbor to help clean up their leaves. When we are done there's a lot of homecooked/ home baked food that the people we helped donated. I also very much enjoy Coaching Kid's Basketball. I try to bring out the best in each player and last season we made the playoffs. I am always looking for opportunities to help others. 

Every week, and today was a bonus with our company taking time out to volunteer across the country for RED day.

yes I do and it has expanded to the point of being overcommitted, making some adjustments in the coming months.

Yes, I do. I have enjoyed coaching at the High School level for the last 11 years.

I sure do.  In fact, so much so, that I need to cut back on that. 

Yes I do! I volunteer quite a bit for the Center of the Visually Impaired in Atlanta.

Sorry to say I have not had the time. I do other things to help out over the course of the year.

Opportunities are abundant if we choose to allocate the time.  I could do more.

       Good for you, Jack.  There are people out there who need encouragement, they need a friend, they need to feel that they are important.

I support various local causes.

I volunteer at my local association in a big way and we do tons of community service.

In small towns community service is like air and water important. You don't attend an event, you are working it behind the scenes in planning and the actual show time. Have a little league sponsored team, have worked on hockey, soap box derby, canoe races, rotary projects, community theatre,etc forever. Literacy training, reading to kids in the schools is so worthwhile both ways.
