To do justice to this question, we must begin by understanding the meaning of these accounting jargon.

 

Accountingtools.com defines an ASSET is an expenditure that has utility through
multiple future
accounting periods. If an expenditure does not
have such utility, it is instead considered an EXPENSE.
A LIABILITY is a legally binding obligation payable to another entity. Liabilities are incurred in order to fund the ongoing activities of a business.

 

Drawing from the accounting definitions, I am definitely an asset because I create value for my real estate clients by providing them with the best source of information, analysis and education to enable them make informed decisions.
