Does Arizona need additional real estate licensees but not attorneys, security guards or private investigators?

I'm kind of neutral on it. But it could lead to issues. I was licensed in New York and you would think it was no big deal to move to North Carolina... but lots of aspects of NC law were very different and I'm also licensed in South Carolina, where it's also different from NC and those differences can be subtle but can have a huge impact if you do it wrong.

Well if it encourages people to move to AZ that might be a good thing. But at the same time it does allow people from other states to take jobs from Arizonians. I think they went through something similar in the United Kingdom. It actually helped the economy, but they didn't like people from other parts of the EU coming in and taking their jobs. The result is Brexit, which may ultimately wreck the economy in the U.K.
Time will tell if it works here or not.

That applies to most states on surveyor, registered professional engineers licenses as well. You think these busy experienced folks have time to spend two days taking 16 hour exam in 12 other states. That is 32 days?

Well since they are testing for the state's laws and requirements and the federal knowledge and laws would be the same in all states I see no issue with it. As long as I am understanding what you are saying accurately.

I like it. It's basically a 50 state reciprocity agreement. I looked into Nevada last year for kicks. Their reciprocity agreement is that a CA Broker can become a NV agent after taking just the Nevada legal section of the exam. Broker still requires years and transaction experience in Nevada.

I wonder how many people will know the AZ law versus laws where they came from. Up here you can become licensed by just taking the state law portion of the test and some education. Its pretty simple and easy.
I guess time will tell the story!

Mutual recognition for all if they pass state law exams? Not a bad idea. Arizona must be trying to attract professionals as most states tend to be very protective of their local licensees and try to make licensing difficult to keep competition away.

Wonder why they decided to drop the state portion. Each state has different rules.

Sounds like Arizona might have heeded the call for less regulation, when appropriate. Requiring the test for only the AZ specific laws/regulations makes sense. Recognizing experience is also appropriate, even though it might not have occurred in AZ. Since AZ draws a significant amount of retirees, it allows them to stay in the workforce as much as they desire.
