More frustrating when dealing with agents who have been doing it wrong for 20 - 30 years.

I've had SO many newbies lately and yes, they are challenging. What I love about them is their eagerness to learn.

They are far more refreshing than the oldies that think their poo doesn't smell...and they oftentimes seem to be more clueless than the newbies!

Depends on the circumstance Paul.  I am dealing with one right now that has been in the business long enough to know better and she is a pill to deal with.

Caulk it up to a live & learn experience for a newbie that is probably getting no help / training from their current Broker. Seeing more & more of this lately.

1. Was it your responsibility to confront them?
2. Did they not have a broker to guide them?
3. Do you think what you did / said ultimately helped?
4. Why do you think it ruined your day?

Well, I try not to confront. By the same token when I was new I worked very hard not to do stupid things and and on the whole, I succeeded. Too many newbies don't know what they don't know but arrogantly behave as if they know everything.

Yes, frustration can happen.

I do not confront agents.  I just help them to the best of my ability. Many tell me "wow, I learned a lot from you."  I often wonder, where is their broker and where is the training.

Humility is the key. If they know not what they do and are not arrogant it goes one way. If arrogant and argumentative, it goes another.

I don't get frustrated all that much with a greenhorn. I try not to engage others that way & if they're bent on destruction I usually just move out of the way & watch it happen. If they're new then they are going to need some guidance, hand-holding, advice. Most of the people that I do not enjoy crossing paths with are people that did something on their end to make the encounter awkward. I guess I'm saying I sleep well at night.

I have said things out of frustration that I wished I wouldn't have or atleast said it with more empathy and/or professionalism to both new and experienced agents. Every once in awhile I even give a new agent here on AR a bit of a weisenheimer answer when all they are doing is fullfilling a class application assignment. Perhaps their instructor should also be a member and at least recommend some new sample questions fo their students.

I just don't want to bother anymore. Like someone said, I will use it to my clients advantage.

I would feel bad if I pushed back & found out they were being manipulated by someone else. Seems like that's what happened. Then the noob should get a break.

For the most part, new agents are a delight.

There is the exception. Unfortunately, these exceptions typicly come from the source of agent training we have all heard, 'Fake it till you make it!"

It is hard to determine if you are talking to the effects of Kook-Aid or a newbie agent who still has ears that hear.

There is a difference between a new (or experienced) agent who is willing to learn and one who is flying by the seat of their pants and thinking that will work out well.

Paul no it was part of my job for some time.  We don't have a bunch of agents working for us anymore so I don't have to teach them all the ropes, week after week which was very time consuming.

Confrontation is not a good practice. Just take the leadership role in the transaction when the other agent lacks the needed experience.
