Let me know when you are ready to move out of the continual issues that California seems to present, we have some amazing homes up here in Wisconsin.

As long as I live in the political climate I live in and as long as I continue to be lied to, I am not safe.  Too many people believe the bull crap of the press. What PG&E is doing now is a cheeky but blatant FU for the $11B settlement for the fires.

If we did proper controlled burns and forest management, we wouldn't have such big fires.  We let brush get way out of hand and then complain when a fire strikes and goes out of control because we left a giant Vegas-sized buffet of food for it.

My daughter is in the east bay, and her power has been off since last night.  No major issues, they used the grill to cook, until their son realized that Wifi requires electricity.

Small meltdown.

I hope you are OK, and yes PGE is laden with law suits, which is why they declared bankruptcy.  A

Last night I told all neighbors that we were be out of power by  8 AM. Ate all ice creams , put more ice cubes for the long haul.  I have flash lights and candles ready. Nothing happened in our area.

At South SJ Costco 10/10/19  11 AM the gas attendant told me he has no power near McKee/Alum Rock area since last night. The rich lawyers in west side will sue the heck out of utility company. Their estates are affected as well.

Wind will die down as my allergy level is less severe.

I hadn't really heard about it until someone mentioned it here and then today, Kathleen Daniels mentioned it elsewhere. I think it's horrible and feel for those who are caught in the ridiculous political crossfire (no pun intended).

No issues in my area other than some wind. But inland I believe they have cut power in some communities with perhaps more to come.

I hope everyone is safe and the threat is over. We read about this when the power shutdown occurred and I cannot understand how doing that so far in advance helps diminish fire risk. How do the hospitals and businesses continue to operate?

Some people mentioned they have generators those run on gas and if there is a fire wouldn't there be a risk of explosions from that? Things are so much different here in Florida I just can't wrap my ahead around the concept of shutting off power to prevent fires. Don't you have underground utilities there?

I'm keeping my eye on the news. I'm not hearing anything bad as a result of the power outage thus far. There are times we lose power for a few days after an ice storm. We wait for the power company to get us back up and running. It doesn't happen every year and it usually isn't for long periods of time minus the one year some people were out of power for almost 2 weeks.  They need a better solution in Cali. Of course you want to prevent any further deaths and devastation but, it doesn't sound like they have a permanent solution they're working on.
