I have given many different things in the past depending on the client. I generally give a set of stemless wine glasses and a nice bottle of wine or a GC to a restaurant or a hardware store if they are wanting to do reno's.

I am not in the habit of giving a gift for a closing, just a thank you.. and great service is my gift to them.

.. but I do try to give a small gift for a referral.. and I mean small.. meant as a token not an inducement.

I like to give a gift. I generally give a gift basket. I try to stay within the IRS gift giving guidelines of $50 per person. So, I have some branded items like Cutco knives, coffee mugs, insulated Corkcicle cups, etc. I have a gift basket company that will put together a base with one or two branded items, and some other items they carry (maybe a cutting board and snacks or coffee/tea and snacks) and they wrap it beautifully for $50. So I have a $50 gift and some branded marketing items. It keeps me in the price point I need to be in for write offs and gives my clients something nice to remember me by. Ask Realtor Carla Gift Basket

First off I shower them with Thank YOUs and gifts right from the beginning and days prior to the closing....I give nothing at the closing except my expertise if needed ... Closing attorney here in Massachusetts is now driving the Bus ... I separate myself from traditional agents immediately with this well received practice...I then follow up 21 days afterwards with an appropriate gift ... I hope that helps.....

When it comes to closing gifts I do as I feel & as time allows. I never feel like a gift is mandatory.

I have a closing today & this buyer is making out quite well. I put together a personalized Basket of goodies with some great wine, Starbucks coffee, Harry & David treats & much more. This client is my golden calf though!
