I like to set "attainable" goals... but I don't set them low so I will hit them... I just like to be realistic, 'cause failure tends to depress me. 

And my plants really don't like it when I'm depressed.

Big long term goals are always "Big" and a stretch. Daily or weekly goals are set to move towards the long term goal and they may still be a challenge they are reachable and doable on a daily basis

I don't ever want to see myself as a failure so will never set unrealistic goals.  My goals have to do with life not money.  I know that working as hard as possible brings the most financial reward.  If I were to set a goal it would be attainable.

Setting goals are easy. I set my goals a little higher than I am comfortable with and hope to achieve. It pushes me to try harder. If I reach my goals, I don't just take it easy, but instead try to see how far I can go above them. Unless you want to be happy with being able to achieve your goals every year, push yourself to reach for the stars. You may not make them, but at least you tried your best
