  When you change your appearance.   For example from cosmetic surgery,  a new hair color or new hair style (ladies),  grow or shave off a beard or mustache (gentlemen).

I used to do this every 3-4 years.  I don't know that I will ever update my photo again. I may just photoshop the one I have now ... adding more grey hair and wrinkles.
